Dash In Training Center

What’s the best way to train retail staff when your stores are open 24/7? In a realistic “faux” store, of course!

We created a training center that offers everything Dash In needs to keep its staff on their toes.

Part of The Wills Group, Dash In is a convenience store chain that offers fresh and prepared food, beverages, and fuel—24 hours a day. Since 1979, Dash In has proven that quick and quality can go together by fueling its customers’ journeys via 50 locations throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.

We created a training center that offers everything Dash In needs to keep its staff on their toes.

Dash In sought to create a controlled, authentic environment to train its staff, with details from actual stores. The goal of the training center was to teach employees best practices and determine if any procedures needed to be adjusted to better manage staff/stores to ensure optimal customer service.

We created a training center that offers everything Dash In needs to keep its staff on their toes.

Novak Birch designed, fabricated, and installed a training center where Dash In can train its staff in a realistic store environment. The center includes:

  • Classrooms: These areas feature graphic wall treatments, tone-on-tone word clouds, and dimensional quotes and branding that reinforce the company’s philosophy and values.
  • Faux Store Interior: The realistic store interior enables Dash In to provide practical training. The space includes photography from actual stores printed on vinyl and applied to walls, providing an authentic sense of place. The space also includes flat interior signage resembling the dimensional signage found in actual stores, as well as window film such as static clings on cooler glass printed with pictures of drinks, like a real cooler.
