Branded Office Space

Bureau of Economic Analysis

We gave this federal government building a fresh, modern update that conveys BEA's brand while providing staff with a functional, inviting work space.

We play well with others! We created a design plan and partnered with architects to make it happen.

BEA produces economic account statistics that enable government and business decision-makers, researchers, and the American public to follow and understand the performance of the nation’s economy.

Prior to moving to the Suitland Federal Center, BEA sought to renovate and brand the space to provide a modern, inviting office for its nearly 600 employees.

We play well with others! We created a design plan and partnered with architects to make it happen.

  • BEA’s headquarters offers a modern yet comfortable space that maximizes usability and ensures smooth traffic flow.
  • We provided BEA with added value by working with their existing contractor to identify new, high-quality options that reflected BEA’s vision.

To update the look-and-feel of the 110,000-square-foot space and incorporate the new BEA logo, Novak Birch redesigned all three floors of BEA’s Suitland headquarters, creating a branded, cohesive office atmosphere. Novak Birch managed the planning, design, and construction of the space.

We assembled a team of experts, including an architect, interior design firm, and BEA’s existing contractor. Then, we created a design vision for the office and managed an on-site team to produce the branded design elements and construct the space, which offers a welcoming, comfortable layout that aligns with the new brand. Novak Birch managed the following:

  • Fabrication and installation of custom interior design components, including a staircase with paint, fabric, and inset elements.
  • Installation of custom corner guard rails, chair rails, custom fabric panels for acoustics and aesthetics, and custom carpet, along with highlighted carpeted areas on the executive floors.
  • Design and installation of custom vinyl designs, including patterns, text, logos, and a full-wall word cloud.
  • Design and fabrication of custom interior signage, including floor level signs, dimensional logos, directories, conference room labeling, and wayfinding.
  • Installation of glass walls to open up the space, including Switch Glass in some conference rooms.
